బీర్బల్ చాలా తెలివైనవాడు.  అతను అక్బర్ ఆస్థానంలో ఉండేవాడు. అక్బర్ అతని సలహాలను పాటించేవాడు.

 అక్బర్ బీర్బల్ సలహాలను సూచనలను ఎంతో మన్ననతో పాటించేవాడు, కాబట్టి బీర్బల్ అంటే చాలామందికి అసూయ ఉండేది.

 కానీ అది ఎవరు బయటపెట్టేవారు కాదు. ఒకసారి  వాళ్ళ మాటలు అక్బర్ విన్నాడు. అప్పుడు అక్బర్ కి ఒక ఆలోచన వచ్చింది. బీర్బల్  యొక్క తెలివిని అందరికీ నిరూపించాలి అనుకున్నాడు బీర్బల్ యొక్క సలహాలను తను ఎందుకు పాటిస్తాడో అందరికీ తెలియజేయాలనుకున్నాడు.
తర్వాత రోజు దర్బార్లో ఈరోజు దర్బార్లోకి ఎవరైతే సమస్యతో వస్తారో, వారికి న్యాయం ఎవరు చేస్తారో వారికి వెయ్యి  నాణేలు బహుమతిగా అందిస్తానని ప్రకటించాడు.

 అందరూ చూస్తుండగానే ఒక నగలవర్తకుడు దర్బార్ లోకి వచ్చి తన ఇంట్లో చోరీ జరిగిందని ఇంట్లోకి కొత్త వారెవరు రాలేదు ఇంటిలోంచి బయటికి ఎవరూ పోలేదు, కానీ క్రితం నెల అతను పర్షియా కి వెళ్ళినప్పుడు తెచ్చుకున్న వజ్రాల సంచి ఇప్పుడు కనిపించడం లేదని రాజుకి ఫిర్యాదు చేశాడు.

 వెంటనే సభలోంచి ఒక్కొక్కరుగా లేచి దొంగ ఎవరు అని అంచనాలు వేయడం మొదలుపెట్టారు. అక్బర్ దీనికి సరైన పరిష్కారం ఒక్క బీర్బల్ మాత్రమే చెప్పగలరని అన్నాడు సభలో ఉన్న అందరూ కూడా అక్బర్తో అంగీకరించారు, ఎందుకంటే ఎవరికిీ దొంగని ఎలా పట్టుకోవడం  అనేది అర్థం కాలేదు.
 అప్పుడే సభలోకి వచ్చిన బీర్బల్ నగలవర్తకుడి సమస్యను విని తప్పకుండా పరిష్కరిస్తానన్నాడు. తరువాతి రోజు నగలవర్తకుడి ఇంటికి వెళ్లి పరిశీలించగా బీర్బల్ కి ఆ ఇంటిలోని పని వాళ్ళలోనే ఎవరో ఒకళ్లు దొంగై ఉంటారని అర్థమైంది.

 అప్పుడు బీర్బల్ నాలుగు కర్ర పుల్లలను తెమ్మని, ఆ నాలుగింటిని ఆ ఇంటిలో పని చేసే నలుగురు  పని వాళ్లకు ఇచ్చాడు. వాళ్లకి ఆ కర్ర పుల్లల్ని ఇచ్చిన తర్వాత బీర్బల్ ఇలా చెప్పాడు, ఇవి మంత్రించిన కర్ర పుల్లలు వీటికి ఎంతో శక్తి ఉంది. మీలో ఎవరైతే దొంగో, వాళ్ళ కర్ర పుల్ల ఒక అంగుళం రేపు పొద్దున్న కల్లా పెరిగి ఉంటుంది, అని చెప్పాడు. ఇది విన్న దొంగ భయపడి మరుసటి రోజు ఉదయానికల్లా ఒక అంగుళం పెరుగుతుంది కదా అని, తన కర్ర పుల్లని ఒక అంగుళం తుంచాడు.  తర్వాతి రోజు ఉదయం పని వాళ్ళందరూ తమ కర్ర పుల్లల్ని బీర్బల్ కి ఇచ్చారు.

 ఆ కర్ర పుల్లల్లో ఒక కర్ర పుల్ల అంగుళం తగ్గి ఉంది, అది చూసిన బీర్బల్ ఆ పనివాడే దొంగని నిరూపించాడు.

 ముందుగా ప్రకటించినట్టుగానే అక్బర్ బీర్బల్ కి 1000 నాణాలను బహుమానం చేశాడు. అలాగే సభలోని వారందరికీ బీర్బల్ ఎంతో తెలివైన వాడని అర్థమైంది, అక్బర్ బీర్బల్ని ఎందుకు అంత గౌరవిస్తాడో అందరికీ తెలిసి వచ్చింది.


Birbal was very intelligent. He was in Akbar's court, and Akbar followed his advice.
Akbar used to follow Birbal's advice very leniently, because of that many people were jealous of Birbal. But they never reveal it in front of Akbar. Akbar heard the words of those who were talking about Birbal behind his back. Once Akbar got an idea. He wanted to prove Birbal's wisdom to everyone.

He wanted to tell everyone why he listened to Birbal's advice. The next day, in the durbar he announced that whoever solves the problem of those who comes to the durbar today with a problem, they will get a reward of 1,000 coins. 
A jeweller came to court saying that a bag of diamonds he brought from Persia last week were robbed from his house. There are only his family members, servants are in his house. No new person entered or left the house in the past week. 

He complained to the king that the bag was now missing. Immediately one by one got up from the assembly and started guessing who the thief was. But nobody gave a perfect solution to catch the thief. Akbar said that only Birbal can give the correct solution. Everyone agreed with Akbar because no one understood how to catch the thief.

Birbal agreed to catch the thief, said that he would surely solve the jeweller's problem and the next day he went to the jeweller's house. 
Birbal understood that there is someone who is a thief among the workers in that house, then Birbal brought four sticks and gave them to the four workers who worked in that house. 

He said that these are magic sticks, the thief's stick will grow an inch by tomorrow morning. The thief heard this and has got scared so, he cut an inch of the stick thinking that it would grow by an inch by tomorrow morning. The next morning, all the workers gave their stick back to Birbal. One of the sticks was reduced by an inch. Birbal understood that worker was the thief whose stick was an inch lesser than the others.

He proved the thief, as announced earlier, Akbar rewarded Birbal with 1000 coins and everyone in the assembly understood that Birbal was very intelligent, that is why he was respected so much.

అది చలికాలం. చెరువులన్నీ స్తంభించిపోయాయి. కోర్టు వద్ద, అక్బర్ బీర్బల్‌ను అడిగాడు, "చెప్పండి బీర్బల్! డబ్బు కోసం మనిషి ఏమైనా చేస్తాడా?" 

బీర్బల్, 'అవును' అని బదులిచ్చాడు. 

దానిని నిరూపించమని చక్రవర్తి ఆదేశించాడు.

మరుసటి రోజు బీర్బల్ తన వద్ద కేవలం పైసా మాత్రమే మిగిలి ఉన్న ఒక పేద బ్రాహ్మణుడితో కలిసి కోర్టుకు వచ్చాడు. అతని కుటుంబం ఆకలితో అలమటించింది. డబ్బు కోసం బ్రాహ్మణుడు దేనికైనా సిద్ధమని బీర్బల్ రాజుతో చెప్పాడు. 

రాజు బ్రాహ్మణుడికి డబ్బు కావాలంటే గడ్డకట్టిన చెరువులో రాత్రంతా ఉండమని ఆదేశించాడు. పేద బ్రాహ్మణుడికి వేరే మార్గం లేదు. రాత్రంతా వణుకుతూ చెరువులోనే ఉన్నాడు. మరుసటి రోజు తన పారితోషికాన్ని అందుకోవడానికి దర్బార్‌కి తిరిగి వచ్చాడు. 

రాజు "చెప్పండి ఓ పేద బ్రాహ్మణా! రాత్రంతా విపరీతమైన ఉష్ణోగ్రతను ఎలా తట్టుకోగలిగావు?" అమాయక బ్రాహ్మణుడు, "నేను ఒక కిలోమీటరు దూరంలో మందంగా మెరుస్తున్న కాంతిని చూశాను మరియు నేను ఆ కాంతి కిరణం వలన వేడిని తట్టుకున్నాను." 

అక్బర్ బ్రాహ్మణుడు వెలుతురు నుండి వెచ్చదనాన్ని పొందాడని మరియు చలిని తట్టుకున్నాడని మరియు అది మోసం అని చెప్పి అతని బహుమతిని చెల్లించడానికి నిరాకరించాడు. 

పేద బ్రాహ్మణుడు అతనితో వాదించలేకపోయాడు మరియు నిరాశతో మరియు ఒట్టి చేతులతో తిరిగి వచ్చాడు బీర్బల్ రాజుకు వివరించడానికి ప్రయత్నించాడు, కాని రాజు అతని మాట వినడానికి ఇష్టపడలేదు.

అక్బర్ అతనిని "ఒక మీటరు దూరంలో ఉన్న నిప్పుతో ఖిచ్డీ ఎలా వండుతుంది? బీర్బల్ మీకు ఏమైంది?" 

బీర్బల్, ఖిచ్డీని వండుతూ, "ఓ గొప్ప రాజా అక్బర్, ఒక వ్యక్తికి ఒక కిలోమీటరు దూరంలో ఉన్న కాంతి నుండి వెచ్చదనం పొందడం సాధ్యమైనప్పుడు, అగ్నికి  ఈ కిచ్డీకి కేవలం ఒక మీటరు దూరంలో ఉండే అవకాశం ఉంది, వండడానికి." 

అక్బర్ తన తప్పు అర్థం చేసుకున్నాడు. అతను పేద బ్రాహ్మణుడిని పిలిచి అతనికి 2000 బంగారు నాణేలను బహుమతిగా ఇచ్చాడు.

ENGLISH VERSION OF THE STORY 

Birbal the wise man: THE TALES OF AKBAR BIRBAL

It was winter. Every one of the lakes are frozen. 

At court, Akbar asked Birbal, "Let me know Birbal! Will a man do anything for cash?"

 Birbal answered, 'Yes'. 

The emperor asked Birbal to demonstrate it. 

The following day Birbal came to the court with an unfortunate Brahmin who had just a paisa left with him. His family was starving. Birbal let the ruler know that a Brahmin would do anything for cash. 

The lord requested the Brahmin to go through the night in a frozen lake, if he does that successfully he will be awarded with the cash. 

The unfortunate Brahmin had no way out. He remained in the lake shuddering throughout the evening. 

The following day he got back to the Durbar to accept his award. 

Akbar asked, "Tell me, Oh Brahmin! How is it that you could bear the outrageous temperature the entire evening?" 

The blameless Brahmin said, "I saw a weak glint of light a kilometer away and I persevered through that beam of light." 

Akbar would not pay his gift saying that the Brahmin got warmth from the light and got through the cold and that it was misrepresentation. 

The Brahmin couldn't argue with him and returned gloomy and with basically nothing.

 Birbal attempted to clarify for the ruler, however Akbar couldn't care less about to pay attention to him. 

From that point forward, Birbal quit coming to the Durbar and sent a courier to the ruler saying that he would come to the court solely after cooking his kichidi. 

Following 5 days Birbal didn't come, the ruler himself went to Birbal's home to see what he was doing. Birbal got the fire going and kept the pot of uncooked khichdi a meter away from it. 

Akbar asked him, "How might you cook khichdi with a fire one meter away? What befell you, Birbal?" 

Birbal, cooking the khichdi, said, "O extraordinary Raja Akbar, when it is feasible for an individual to move heat from light a kilometer away, the wellspring of intensity is just a meter away from this khichdi, to cook it." 

Akbar understood his mix-up. He called the unfortunate Brahmin and skilled him 2000 gold coins.
